Dear colleagues,
Following the successful organization of the 1st Summer School of MSCT Coronary Angiography held at the Centre for Advanced Academic Studies of the University of Zagreb in Dubrovnik, it is my great honour and pleasure to invite you to the 2nd International Summer School of MSCT Coronary Angiography, to be held at the same venue. The School is organized by the University Hospital Dubrava, the Department of Cardiovascular Diseases and the Clinical Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, in collaboration with the University of Zagreb, the Croatian Cardiac Society, and the Croatian Society of Radiology.
MSCT coronary angiography is the fastest-growing method in clinical cardiology practice for the diagnosis of coronary artery disease. Unfortunately, compared to other European countries, it remains underutilized in routine clinical practice in the Republic of Croatia.
In this context, we are particularly encouraged by the strong interest in education and implementation of this method, which was clearly demonstrated during last year’s Summer School, along with a well-articulated desire for continued education.
This year’s programme has been enriched by the international experience of a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists and radiologists from the United Kingdom. In the practical part of the course, we have increased the number of working stations to 20.
Furthermore, the latest insights into the application of new technologies and artificial intelligence will be presented, as well as our experience with photon-counting CT and CT-FFR.
The most important novelty of this Summer School is the endorsement by the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT).
Beyond being a great honour and recognition, this also represents a significant responsibility—to work according to the highest international standards and professional guidelines, applying best clinical practices.
The International Summer School of MSCT Coronary Angiography is intended for residents and specialists in cardiology and radiology, radiologic technologists, specialized nurses, and healthcare technicians. It may also be of great benefit to other healthcare professionals, with the aim of establishing specialized multidisciplinary teams for faster and more accurate diagnostics and improved treatment outcomes.
